Are you a K–12 teacher in the Twin Cities interested in using contemporary art to spark deeper learning? You are invited to join us on May 5, 2026 from 5–8 pm for the culminating event of the Walker Art Center x World Savvy Educator Fellowship pilot, which supports educators across grade levels and content areas to leverage contemporary art as a catalyst for classroom learning through the lenses of inquiry, identity, and civic agency.

This community showcase highlights how educators use art to ask complex questions, connect academic content to lived experience, and translate inquiry into meaningful classroom learning. Attendees will receive an overview of the Fellowship’s key learnings and insights, access lesson plans and instructional tools developed through the pilot, and engage with a community showcase of student work. Guests will also have time to explore the galleries, pick up resources connecting current exhibitions to classroom themes, and enjoy a complimentary drink.

Doors open at 5 pm; program begins at 6 pm.

This event is free and open to K–12 educators across disciplines. Educators may bring one additional guest.

Refreshments and parking validation will be provided. We would love to see you there! RSVP by May 5. For more information, contact lakayla.williams@walkerart.org.
