Volunteer
World Savvy’s Volunteer Program is supported by nearly 500 core volunteers who are dedicated to our mission. We are deeply grateful for their enthusiasm and hard work.
Featured Volunteer of the Month: Paul Huang!

Paul Huang is one of World Savvy’s most dedicated volunteers. He first volunteered with World savvy in 2003 as the score-keeper at the inaugural San Francisco World Affairs Challenge. Over the past 10 years, Paul has come back year after year and made significant improvements to the way that scores were tabulated and reported at the end of Challenge day. In 2008, Paul developed a new multi-user web-based scoring system that was much more accurate and user-friendly, and provided instantaneous results. In 2012, this system was central to allowing World Savvy to expand the newly redesigned and rebranded World Savvy Challenge program into the online space. Paul also serves on World Savvy’s Technology Task Force, advising the organization on strategic technology investments not only for the World Savvy Challenge, but organization-wide.
Paul’s work is often behind the scenes and under the radar, but is incredibly central to allowing World Savvy to grow the Challenge program. We are incredibly grateful for his commitment to this work and his entrepreneurial spirit.
World Savvy offers a variety of both long-term and short-term volunteer opportunities. We offer trainings and orientations for all volunteer opportunities.
