WAC - Get Involved
Students
The World Affairs Challenge program is currently available to students in 6-12th grade in Northern California and Minnesota. This is a great way to build your resume for college and work with your friends to learn more about global issues. If you’re interested in forming a team at your school, talk to your teachers or fill out an interest form and a member of World Savvy’s staff will help you get started.
Judges
Judges are community members who volunteer their time at the culminating competition to watch students present on their chosen topics. Judges have an interest in international affairs and come from a variety of backgrounds and professions. If you are interested in being a judge at the World Affairs Challenge, please fill out an interest form and a member of our staff will be in touch.
Volunteers
We rely on support from volunteers to make the World Affairs Challenge run smoothly. Volunteers do everything from registering students at the beginning of the day to tallying scores just before the closing ceremony. If you are interested in volunteering your time on Challenge Day or helping World Savvy prepare for the Challenge in the weeks leading up to it, please fill out an interest form and a member of our staff will be in touch.
Sponsors
We rely on the support of local businesses and community members in the form of monetary or in-kind donations of food, gift certificates and other prizes to allow us to reward students and thank our volunteers for their time and commitment. Making a donation to World Savvy for this exciting program is a great opportunity to introduce potential new customers to your company and show your support for students as they develop into active and responsible global citizens. World Savvy will recognize your generosity by putting your name in our World Affairs Challenge™ Event Program as well as acknowledging the donation in our newsletter (reaching over 2500 people) and on our website. If you are interested in sponsoring the World Affairs Challenge, please contact Edward Wang.
