2008 World Affairs Challenge - Opening Ceremony
We welcomed 1,000 people at this year’s Opening Ceremony! We were honored to present Dean Jacob Perea of San Francisco State University’s College of Education with the 1st annual Global Educators Award. We also welcomed Megan Miller or Senator Barbara Boxer’s office, who presented us with a letter of support from the Senator. Finally, we were very excited to have our Keynote Speaker, Sarah Shannon, Executive Director of the Hesperian Foundation, share her experiences and perspectives on Global Health. The Opening Ceremonies were an inspiring and exciting way to start off the 2008 World Affairs Challenge!
