GEP - Savvy Scholar Fellowships
Savvy Scholar Fellowships
These Fellowships, a two year project from 2006-2008, are an extension of our Consulting Partnerships, our unique consulting service in which we work together with educators one-on-one to develop curriculum on global issues to fit seamlessly within their existing curriculum.
Savvy Scholar Fellowships were instituted to help address the lack of professional development funds in public schools. The Fellows receive all the services of our Consulting Partnerships, as well as:
- assistance in locating guest speakers for the classroom
- a stipend of $500 at the conclusion of the academic year, if all requirements are met
In return, Savvy Scholar Fellows will:
- attend half-day orientation & end-of-year showcase
- participate for the duration of the academic year
- complete mid-year and end-of-year evaluations
- participate in at least 2 of our teacher workshops throughout the year
- submit samples of student work
- attend at least one Scholars’ networking event during the year
Eligibility: middle school and high school educators, in any subject, from San Francisco public schools.
