World Savvy Professional Development Workshops & Institutes

World Savvy provides individual educators, administrators, cultural institutions and associations with a range of professional development services which build content knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to educate for global competency. Beginning in Fall 2010, educators anywhere around the country will be able to choose from a menu of workshops (two-hour) and institutes (half day, full day and two-day) focusing on a range of global issues and methods for integrating world affairs into classroom instruction.

Professional Development Workshops:

World Savvy offers a series of two-hour introductory workshops for schools and teachers (Grades 6-12) in the San Francisco, Minneapolis, and New York City metropolitan areas on a range of global issues, using a variety of methods- art and media, project based  and experiential learning- to help teachers identify effective strategies for integrating global issues into instruction.

Professional Development Institutes

World Savvy Professional Development Institutes, which extend for either a half day, full day, or two-days for 10 or more teachers. These institutes are ideal for teachers who are looking for a more intensive, comprehensive exploration of innovative teaching strategies and resources to integrate global themes into teaching and learning. These institutes are particularly effective for schools interested in creative interdisciplinary connections using global themes –or a desire to engage staff in dialogue around global education.
