About Us

The Global Youth Media and Arts Program launched in New York in 2008, and has since served more than 1300 students from all five boroughs through the Global Youth Media and Arts Program (MAP). New York is an ideal setting for World Savvy’s unique global education programs; the unparalleled diversity of culture, language, race and ethnicity in New York allows students to explore their identities as global citizens, and to share their perspectives with the community.

During the 2009-2010 school year, we will deepen our exploration of the theme “Immigration and Identity” while researching and building curriculum for new global themes in the coming years. The MAP program is open to teachers of grades 6-12 and their students, with opportunities for returning teachers to take on leadership and mentoring roles. Email Program Manager Carissa Johnson for more info!

Soon, World Savvy will launch more of core programming, including the World Affairs Challenge and the Global Educator’s Program, to the New York Metropolitan area. Stay tuned for more info!
