The ongoing humanitarian and political crisis in Darfur, Sudan, is a complex narrative that touches on issues of race, religion, politics, economics, geography, climate, war, and human frailty. It does not exist in a vacuum, and must be viewed in the context of other national, regional, and international tensions. The story of Darfur is a tragedy, and the stakes are enormous worldwide.
