Hey World Savvy supporters! Check out this incredible project created by American Youth Leadership Program (AYLP) participant Filip Kostanecki, who had a vision to make knowledge learned in classrooms easily translatable to actions and service for youth. All AYLP Youth Leaders complete Social Action Projects, which involve taking inspiration from the trip and translating it into projects that benefit their communities. Fil did just this. He identified the need that youth felt disconnected to real activities and events that occurred outside their school walls and thus created an incredible, map-based website. So all you Minneapolis, St. Paul folks—check this out, and share it!
Pop The Bubble MN is a map-based website where individuals can find educational events in their communities and filter them by subject area. All in one, easy-to-use free website: PopTheBubbleMN.org
This website is free for everyone to use and free for organizations to publicize their educational events.
An "event" is any organized instance where students can use what they know to interact with those around them. This includes service-learning, seminars, workshops, conferences, activities, competitions and much more.
At the beginning of every month Pop the Bubble MN will post that month''s events, periodically updating the map as more events come in.
Pop the Bubble MN Story: We created this tool to help students "pop the bubble" around schools, helping them realize that they can truly apply their education outside the classroom. As a grassroots organization, we depend on the input of others to keep growing. So help us spread the word.
We hope you find Pop The Bubble MN useful and that you join us in helping students apply their education outside the classroom.
