Photo Friday: Seeking Solutions
August 31st 2012
What is World Savvy about? One thing we’re about is seeking solutions. In all World Savvy programs we encourage youth and educators to view a global issue from multiple perspectives, to understand the nuances surrounding such issues, and then to look at how we can address these issues on a global and local level. This photo is of project proposals written by the 61 U.S. and Bangladeshi participants of the American Youth Leadership Program. These projects were inspired by studying climate change on a global scale and were then translated into projects that participants undertook on a local level. Projects ranged from installing a “hydration station” in a participant’s school (a fountain used to fill reusable water bottles) to creating education campaigns for youth at a local elementary school.
