2012 National World Savvy Challenge Winners Announced!

World Savvy is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 National World Savvy Challenge Competition:
In the Junior Division, team CHECKS from Breck Middle School in Minneapolis, Minnesota for their plan to combat air pollution by installing solar panels on their field house and implementing an incentives program to encourage more people to carpool and ride the bus. Team members: Evrrett Naylor, Claire Cousineau, Seamus Walsh, Kendall Kozikowski and Charlie Gamer. Coach: Sarah Flotten.
In the Senior Division, team I Am Powerful from Wilcox High School in Santa Clara, California for their plan to initiate a pro-woman socioeconomic movement for a sustainable economy. Team members: Eulalia Singh, Sufyan Abbasi, Dheeraj Gottipalli, Sumaiya Elahi, Andrew Cheng, Henderson Wong, Lenus Chow, Adarsh Tantry, and Afrah Mohammed. Coach: Steve Simoni.
An honorable mention also goes to Bamboo 360 from Blue Oak Middle School in Napa, California for their plan to support the development of a nursery in Haiti to grow construction grade bamboo.
The winner in each division will receive up to $500 in funding to implement their project as well as in-kind support from World Savvy to support project implementation within a 3-6 month timeframe.
