Community collaboration and partnership is a cornerstone of programming at World Savvy. We acknowledge that a wealth of organizations exist which address the range of challenges facing schools and education in the United States, and we actively seek collaboration with organizations which share our mission and vision.
The following program partners have sponsored or participated directly in one of World Savvy’s three core programs - the World Affairs Challenge (WAC), the Global Youth Media and Arts Program (MAP), or the Global Educators Program (GEP).
World Savvy is pleased to collaborate with Link TV to produce curriculum which highlights the content in the award winning shows, Global Pulse and Latin Pulse. This curriculum will be featured on our website this Fall, and will be available to K-12 teachers locally and nationally through Link TV.
We've been hosting the World Affairs Challenge at SFSU for years, and this year we are pleased to expand our partnership to support the Gear Up! program, which offers academic mentoring, support and programming to middle school students in San Francisco Unified School District.
This year in New York City, NYU will be collaborating with World Savvy and Senior Program Associate Victoria Restler to enhance the Professional Development Institute offered to the more than 30 participating educators in the Global Youth Media and Arts Program. We are thrilled to be learning and co-creating with the talented arts educators on staff at NYU, and are grateful to them for hosting the 2009 MAP Festival and Culminating visual arts exhibition.
CTIR is the creator of the one of our core programs, the World Affairs Challenge. World Savvy partnered with CTIR to bring the program to San Francisco and as we expand the program to Minneapolis, our partnership continues to flourish.
Crossing the BLVD is book, audio CD, website and exhibition that details the personal experiences of contemporary immigrants in Queens, NY. In 2008 all MAP educators received a copy of this book and Judith Sloan performed a related monologue entitled "What's Your Status?" at the Global Youth Media and Arts Festival. In 2008-9, World Savvy has integrated a stories, images and a radio documentary from Crossing the BLVD into World Savvy's Collaborator's Guide. http://www.crossingtheblvd.org
Zeum is the institutional partner for the Global Youth Media and Arts Program. They display the program’s youth exhibition for two months and provide a space for youth performances during the program’s culminating festival.
San Francisco State University and the College of Education are the institutional partner and sponsor of the San Francisco World Affairs Challenge. The University has been extremely generous and supportive during this partnership which continues to grow each year.
LaGuardia Community College was the host of the 2008 Global Youth MAP performance exhibition in June 2008, as well as a host for the Jam Session and Professional Development for more than 500 NYC area youth and teachers in this program.
For the last several years, World Savvy has partnered to provide high quality professional development workshops at the World Affairs Council in conjunction with BAGEP. Speakers and curriculum development was provided by World Savvy, and the venue and refreshments were provided by the Council. We frequently cross-promote at community events in the Bay Area.
The Center for Urban Pedagogy helped World Savvy program staff to design and implement a field trip on gentrification for the 2008 MAP program in New York City.
El Proyecto helped World Savvy program staff to design and implement a field trip on undocumented workers for the 2008 MAP program in New York City.
The Museum of Chinese and the Americas helped World Savvy program staff to design and implement a field trip on culture, food and identity for the 2008 MAP program in New York City.
MoMa generously donated space for the Professional Development Institute offered to more than 30 NYC teachers in the Global Youth Media and Arts Program.
World Up! Was a presenter and collaborator for the Professional Development Institute offered to more than 30 NYC teachers in the Global Youth Media and Arts Program in New York City in 2008.

The following organizations and corporations have partnered with World Savvy to provide community programming in the cities we serve, as well as foundation support for outreach, volunteer recruitment and training.
World Savvy has a volunteer partnership with Intrax, who provides large numbers of volunteers for our events. In 2008, 20 Intrax employees volunteered as Judges and Proctors and the San Francisco World Affairs Challenge!
Diversity Abroad Foundation, Institute for International Education (IIE)and Habitat for Humanity San Francisco all co-hosted community events with World Savvy in 2008, offering a Quiz Night for more than 60 community members.
